Stunning Villas at the Tropical Resort Bahama Bay Resort

Embedded in 70 tropical acres on Lake Davenport, Bahama Bay Resort is the perfect place for your family vacation in Orlando.

 

The resort is being managed by Wyndham Vacation Rentals that secures an outstanding service and support for guests and owners.


Located just 15 minutes from Disney and an hour to the beach you will be able to get the most out of your Central Florida vacation.

 

Resort amenities such as a gym, 4 pools, 6 jacuzzis, free DVD rental, restaurant, on-site bars sporting facilities, beautiful walking paths, fishing dock and plenty of other first class amenities will keep you busy just by staying on the resort. (Only valid for selected units* see below)

Description of  the different  condos at Bahama Bay

All in all their are about 500 units with the Bahama Bay resort and all are privately owned. They are all fully equipped for a lovely family vacation.


*)One important change since March 1 2019 is that only condos managed by Vacasa, like ours, still have full access to all amenities in the Clubhouse. Units where the owner have chosen another management company will not have access to things like 24/7 Front desk, Gym, Sauna, DVD-rental, Postal service, On-site maintenance etc etc.





There are 4 different types of condos within the resort and below is a short description highlighting the main differences between them.

Grand Bahama Bahama Bay




Grand Bahama: (The type we have) Is by far the biggest type with its 162m2/1740sqft. It is always located on the top floor at either side of the building.

This 3 bedroom unit sleeps up to 8 people. It has a king size bed in master bedroom and a queen resp 2 twin sized beds in the other bedrooms and as all units it also has a queen sized sofa bed.

Both bathrooms have walk-in showers and double sinks.

The big balcony has at least 4 chairs (we have 8 chairs).

Abacos Bahama Bay




Abacos: Is the smaller 3 bedroom unit with 115m2/1240sqft. It is the most common unit type (70%) within Bahama Bay. It can be located on any floor and has always neighbours on both sides.

This 3 bedroom unit sleeps up to 8 people.

It has a queen size bed in master bedroom and a queen resp 2 twin sized beds in the other bedrooms and as all units it also has a queen sized sofa bed.

The balcony has room for 2 chairs.

Andros Bahama Bay




Andros: Is the bigger 2 bedroom unit type with 130m2/1400sqft. It is always located on the ground floor at either side of the building.

This 2 bedroom unit sleeps up to 6 people. It has a king size bed in master bedroom and 2 twin sized beds in the second bedroom and as all units it also has a queen sized sofa bed.

Master bathroom has a walk-in showers and double sinks.

The big patio has room for at least 4 chairs.

San Salvador Bahama Bay





San Salvador: Is the smaller 2 bedroom unit type with  110m2/1180sqft. It is always located on the middle floor at either side of the building. This 2 bedroom unit sleeps up to 6 people. It has a queen size bed in master bedroom and 2 twin sized beds in the second bedroom and as all units it also has a queen sized sofa bed. The balcony has room for at 2-4 chairs.

Common for all units.

Kitchen: Full size kitchen. Fridge and freezer with ice maker and filtered water, stove / oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, electric can opener and garbage disposer.

Pots, pans, oven dishes and more. Glassware and crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils.

In short, you will find everything you need to prepare your own meal.


Private Utility Room: Washing machine, dryer, iron, ironing board, vacuum cleaner, cleaning equipment and fire extinguishers.


Other minimum standard

TV in living room and normally also in the bedrooms (we have 4 TVs in our unit)

DVD player (we have 2 blu-ray players in our unit)

Music system (we have an advanced music centre in living room and a standard in master bedroom)

Plenty of storage in closets and chest of drawers

Hairdryers

Free WiFi which also covers most of the resort.

Free parking in front of the house.

For the smallest ones there is a cot, high chair. Additional cot can be arranged.

Bed linen, towels, pool towels for everyone

Ceiling fans

On arrival, you will find a small starter kit with soap, shampoo, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, coffee and filters.

In terms of safety, there are smoke detectors, sprinklers, fire extinguishers, phone and that the reception is manned around the clock in case you need any help.

The area is fenced and the entrance is manned around the clock.


Please note there is no elevator in the buildings.


Other considerations when choosing your condo

The resort is quite big and it takes about 10min to walk across. Depending on your preferences think about your wishes to be close to a pool, playgrounds, kids water park, restaurant, beach area etc.

The pools next to clubhouse and restaurant are normally quite busy with a lot of people and quite noisy even late evenings while the smaller pools are very quiet.

Ground floor units are good if you have difficulties climbing the stairs while the top floor units offers a quite environment as you will not be disturbed by exiting kids jumping around in the unit above. Top floor units also offer privacy when sitting on the balconies.

The Abacos units have bedrooms facing the staircases and it can be disturbing having people walking outside the bedrooms.


The rating system makes the difference:

Every unit is privately owned and each owner is responsible for all upgrading of the unit.

Once a year each condo is inspected by Wyndham's management in order to classify the condo's standard. Through a point system based on about 100 different criterias following  classifications are assigned to each unit:

Platinum: The highest available standard (we are Platinum classified) equals 4-5 hotel stars. Flooring, mattresses, TVs, Sofas, furniture, appliances, kitchen, decoration are things that has been fully or to a large extend upgraded.

Gold: Equals 3-4 hotel stars, most important things like carpets, TVs and mattresses have been upgraded.

Silver: Equals 2-3 hotel stars and just a few upgrades have been made.

Bronze: Equals 2 hotel stars. There are only a handful left within Bahama Bay. To be avoided!
